Fuel/lubricant factory in Thanlyin to produce 12,000 tons of blended oil yearly

The fuel/lubricant factory in the compound of Thanlyin oil refinery in Yangon Region has intended to produce 12,000 tons of blended oil every year, according to sources from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy.

Located in the compound of No (1) Oil Refinery in Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region, the fuel/lubricant factory is providing fuels and lubricants necessary for factories, workshops and machinery owned by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and Myanmar Railways.

The factory engages in blending of imported lube base oil and additives to produce fuels and lubricants. It can produce 28 kinds of blending. Previously, the production of capacity of the factory was 25,000 tons of blended oil. It could produce such capacity until 2012-2013 fiscal year. But, the factory halted operation due to losses.

Now, it is due to re-operate to cut foreign exchange for import. The operation of the factory will benefit both the staff and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy. Now, the facilities of the factory have been repaired or replaced with new ones.
