Medical supplies for COVID-19 prevention provided for people’s hospitals in Magway, Meiktila

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in- Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Central Command Commander Brig- Gen Ko Ko Oo and members, visited people’s hospitals in Magway and Meiktila this morning and evening and donated medical supplies for COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment and nutritious food.

At the halls of the respective hospitals, the Vice-Senior General explained the purpose of providing the medical supplies. He said protective medical equipment and nutritious foods were donated as supplies out of compassion for the health staff who are shouldering their tremendous duties such as giving treatment to patients day and night during the COVID-19 crisis and having to protect themselves against the virus.

Next, the Vice-Senior General presented medical supplies for COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment to the hospitals. Medical superintendent of Magway People’s Hospital Dr Daw Win Win Htay and medical superintendent of Meiktila People’s Hospital Dr Nyunt Sein accepted the donations, returned certificates of honour and spoke words of thanks. Moreover, the Vice-Senior General presented cash donations for cooking meals for the hospital staff and patients to the station commanders. Families of the stations will cook meals and distributed to the hospital staff and patients.

Each hospital received 100 personal protective equipment (PPE) suits, 210 face shields, 10 pairs of goggles, 2,000 pairs of gloves, 4,200 masks produced by Tatmadaw factories, 200 cakes of Padonma soap, 2,100 chicken eggs and 53 viss of milk.
