Statement on Ceasefire and Perpetual Peace

1. The Tatmadaw formed the State Administration Council and is carrying out improvement of multiple sectors such as political, economic and social affairs of the State with might and main by adopting five future programmes and nine objectives.

2. As the mission to accomplish process of perpetual peace is a must for the State, the Tatmadaw has ceased military operations for holding the dialogues on peace process with the ethnic armed organizations, some of which have signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement and some of which are still holding talks to sign the NCA, soonest.

3. The Tatmadaw will further cease all military operations from 1 to 30 June 2021 across the nation except the period when security and administrative machinery of the government in addition to State defence and administrative measures are encroached on, for the NCA signatory ethnic armed organizations to continue the dialogue till the perpetual peace is totally achieved, for the smoothness and success of the peace process and for the students to peacefully pursue their studies as basic education schools under the BasicEducation Department will be reopened for 2021-2022 academic year  on 1 June.

4. Collective efforts must be exerted to make more effective use of the period the Tatmadaw has halted all military operations to restore perpetual peace through discussions.
