State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received President of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mr. Peter Maurer at the parlour of the Diplomat Hall of the Office of the State Administration Council Chairman this morning.
They cordially exchanged views on Myanmar’s cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross in the past and in the future, plan to continue further cooperation before outbreak of COVID-19, arrangements of the Myanmar Tatmadaw in inserting lessons related to ICRC in the law courses, achievement in cooperation among the Myanmar government, the Tatmadaw and the ICRC, and promotion of further cooperation.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Union Ministers U Wunna Maung Lwin, U Ko Ko Hlaing, Dr Thet Khaing Win, President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society Dr Maung Maung Myint and officials. The ICRC President was accompanied by Director of Asia and Pacific Region Ms. Christine Cipolla and Resident Representative to Myanmar Mr. Stephen Sakalian.
