State Administration Council of Republic of Union of Myanmar holds Waso robes offering ceremony for 2021

Waso robes offering ceremony for 2021 of the State Administration Council of the Republic of Union of Myanmar was held at the Sasana Beikmandawgyi in the compound of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area this morning.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented Waso robes, offertories and day meal and desserts. Present at the ceremony were 18 invited members of the Sangha including Ovadacariya Sayadaws of Uppatasanti Pagoda led by Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhad-danta Janinda, the chief principal of Paukmyaing monastery, Leway, Nay Pyi Taw. The Senior General was accompanied by Vice Chairman of the Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, SAC members General Mya Tun Oo, Admiral Tin Aung San, Lt-Gen Soe Htut, Mahn Nyein Maung, Daw Aye Nu Sein, U Moung Har, Dr Banya Aung Moe, U Shwe Kyein, Secretary Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dway, Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Chief Justice U Tun Tun Oo, Chairman of Constitutional Tribunal U Than Kyaw, Chairman of Union Election Commission U Thein Soe, union ministers and officials. They took places in accord with the COVID-19 prevention, contain-ment and treatment rules.
First, the Senior General paid homage to Buddha Image in the Sasana Beikmandawgyi and offered meals in the emerald bowl and fruits, flowers, water and lights.The Waso robes offering ceremony was opened with the recitation of namo tassa three times. Fine Arts Department turned on a religious song.The congregation led by the Senior General received the Five Precepts from Paukmyaing Sayadaw.
Then, Sayadaws recited parittas including Metta Sutta. The Senior General presented Waso robes, offertories and day meal and desserts to Paukmyaing Sayadaw.Afterwards, the Vice-Senior General presented Waso robes, offertories and day meal and desserts to Mahathihanada Sayadaw, and the SAC membersGeneral Mya Tun Oo, Admiral Tin Aung San, Lt-Gen Soe Htut, Mahn Nyein Maung,Daw Aye Nu Sein, U Moung Har, Dr Banya Aung Moe, U Shwe Kyein, Secretary Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dway and attendees presented Waso robes, offertories and day meal and desserts to Sayadaws.
Paukmyaing Sayadaw delivered a religious sermon and the congregation shared the merits gained. The ceremony ended with the recitation of Buddha sasanamciram tithatu three times.
