YBS drivers urged to get vaccinated
The Yangon Region Transport Committee (YRTC)has been inviting YBS drivers to get vaccination and transportation com-panies have been requested to provide the list of drivers before 29 July, according to the com-mittee.
“Most YRTC staff have been vaccinated except only 13 of them. However, only about 511 YBS drivers have been vaccinated. As they are drivers who have to communicate with the public every day, they are required to get vaccinated without fail. We are collecting the lists of drivers to get vaccinated in accordance with the require-ments of the Ministry of Health. We have told bus companies to submit the list by 29 July and have requested drivers to get vaccination,” said an official of the YRTC. Currently, the Yangon Region Administration Council has told the YRTC to take measures to get YBS drivers vaccinated. As they have to communicate with the public every day, they are required to strictly follow the instructions of the Ministry of Health like wearing masks, social distancing rules and not allowing passengers who fail to wear masks on buses, according to the YRTC.
