Chinese Goodwill delegation led by President Xi Jinping arrives in Myanmar

Chinese delegation led by President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China, at the invitation of President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Win Myint and wife Daw Cho Cho, left China for Myanmar by special plane this morning to pay a goodwill visit to Myanmar. Two multirole fighters of Myanmar Air Force greeted the Chinese delegation upon their plane’s arrival in Myanmar’s airspace, and accompanied it along the route, providing security.

The delegation arrived at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport in the afternoon. Director-General U Min Thein of Protocol Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Chen Hai greeted the Chinese President on board.

The Chinese delegation led by President Xi Jinping was welcomed by Vice-President U Myint Swe of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, Secretary of Yunnan Province Communist Party of China Mr. Chen Hao, Myanmar Ambassador to China U Myo Thant Pe, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs U Soe Han and officials, at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.

The Guard of Honor, national ethnic people and cultural dance groups welcomed the Chinese delegation at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport. Students lined the road outside the airport, waving the flags of two countries to welcome the Chinese delegation.
