Bagan in ancient archaeological zone in Nyaung-U Township in Mandalay Region is crowded with local and foreign tourists who wish to enjoy the beauty of sunset and pay homage to Buddha images at ancient pagodas, according to tour guide U Tin Aung.
In early 2020, local and foreign tourists who visited Bagan-Nyaung-U ancient cultural zone went to ancient pagodas including the Shwezigon, Htilominlo, Hsulamani, Pyathetgyi, Shin Iza Gawna pagodas and enjoyed the beauty of sunset atop the Nanmyint Tower.
“Most local and foreign tourists go to pagodas in the morning and enjoy the beauty of sunset atop the Nanmyint Tower in the evening,” said U Tin Aung.
Moreover, local and foreign tourists often go to Tantkyitaung Sacred Tooth Relic Pagoda on the other bank of the Ayeyawady and demand for ferry services at the Bu Pagoda jetty has risen.
There are 198 ferry boats at the jetty. Pilgrims cross the river by boat and take cars to get to the pagoda.
