Myanmar Gov’t prepares facilities for COVID-19 quarantine

As Myanmar Government is taking preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19, it has prepared five places to quarantine people with COVID-19 symptoms in Yangon.

The Ministry of Health and Sports has prepared buildings in Hlegu, North Dagon, South Dagon, Dagon Seikkan and Mingalar Taungnyunt townships.

On 22 March,  the  ministry made  preparations  in  Theinbyu  Boxing  Stadium,  placing  beds and disinfecting the building.

Those with COVID-19 symptoms will be kept in quarantine in those facilities for two weeks, according to the ministry.

The ministry furnished the Theinbyu Boxing Stadium with 70 beds. It is working in cooperation with concerned departments and lawmakers to take preventive measures.

The death toll from coronavirus outbreak has topped 13,000  and the confirmed cases of COVID-19 around the world reached over 300,000 since December.
