The Tatmadaw is expediting prevention and control of pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Teams of medical services are assigned in respective military command areas to take preventive measures such as performing medical checkups and spraying disinfection of disease as well as donating hospital equipment to people’s hospitals, station hospitals, rural health centres and ethnic armed organizations.
Today, medical supplies for prevention, control and treatment of the disease donated by Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) were presented for KNU, KNU/KNLA (PC) and KKO groups in South-East Command area, SSPP/SSA group in Eastern Central Command area and KNPP group in Eastern Command area at the venues of respective groups and headquarters of the military commands.
Commander of South-East Command Brig-Gen Ko Ko Maung presented medical supplies to Chairman of KNU group Saw Mutu Sae Poe and party, KNU/KNLA (PC) group Chairman U Saw Htaw Lay and party and KKO group Chairman Saw Moe Shay and party, Commander of Eastern Central Command Maj-Gen Than Hlaing to Patron of SSPP/SSA group U Hsay Htin and party and Col Tun Naing Oo of Regional Control Command (Loikaw) of Eastern Command to General Secretary Shwe Myo Thant and party of KNPP group respectively. The receivers spoke words of thanks.
In speaking words of thanks, Chairman of KNU group Saw Mutu Sae Poe expressed his thanks to the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services for assistance to prevent and control COVID-19. National brethren need to march forward in unity. With regard to donating the supplies, KNU group will cooperate with the Tatmadaw in taking preventive measures of COVID-19. These supplies will be used in necessary places through health units.
Chairman of KNU/KNLA (PC) group U Saw Htaw Lay thanked the leaders of the Tatmadaw for donations of medical equip-ment to them with brotherly spirit during the period of breaking out COVID-19. He took much pride of his troops and families in participating in the disease preventive measures. He expressed special thanks to leaders of the Tatmadaw for providing medical supplies to their ethnics they have never met.
Chairman of KKO group Saw Moe Shay said he thanked the Tatmadaw for providing disease preventive equipment during the period of COVID-19. The group also participates in preventive measures of disease as much as it can. He much thanked the Tatma-daw for supply of preventive equipment. On behalf of the group, he expressed thanks to the Tatmadaw for providing preventive equipment of COVID-19 in meeting with the ethnics as brothers, offspring and pupils.
Patron of SSPP/SSA group U Hsay Htin said he specially thanked the Tatmadaw for supply of equipment to prevent COVID-19 and gifts. He expressed his thanks to the Tatmadaw for emphasizing prevention of COVID-19. The group has understanding and trust over it. As efforts are being made to create cooperation, he firmly believes success would be achieved one day. If both sides make cooperation, all will have to enjoy fruits of results. If understanding and trust can be built patiently, all will achieve victory. He thanked the Tatmadaw for such donation. The group understands goodwill of the Tatmadaw. He prayed for all to free from COVID-19 disease.
General Secretary Shwe Myo Thant of KNPP said he specially thanked the Com-mander-in-Chief of Defence Services and families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) for their collective donations of supplies for prevention and control of COVID-19 and foodstuffs with goodwill. He prayed for them to make more donations.
Today’s donations of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) were 30,000 surgical masks, 1,200 N95 masks, 300 face shields, six containers of bleaching powder, 750 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE), 1,500 pairs of examination gloves, 200 bottles of hand gel and 200 bottles of hand sanitizer to KNU group and 10,000 surgical masks, 500 N95 masks, 250 face shields, five containers of bleaching powder, 100 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE), 1,000 pairs of examination gloves, 150 bottles of hand gel and 150 bottles of hand sanitizer to remaining each ethnic armed organization. Moreover, foodstuffs given as gifts of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services were also presented to them.
