AA terrorists blew up a Tatmadaw convoy leading to Kyaukpyu for drawing salaries of officers and other ranks of the local military unit located near Sittaw Village in Kyaukpyu Township, Rakhine State, this morning.
To draw salaries of officers and other ranks of the local military unit near Sittaw Village in Kyaukpyu Township of Rakhine State, Tatmadaw vehicles left Sittaw Village for Kyaukpyu this morning. AA terrorists committed mine attacks on and fired small arms at the vehicles near a wooden bridge on Sittaw-Kyaukpyu motor road, 3,000 metres southwest of Katthabye Village. Servicemen taking security measures of the convoy performed counter-attacks on the terrorists. So, the terrorists retreated to the eastward. No serviceman was injured in the incident due to systematic security measures.
A dead body together with accessories related in planting mines was seized from AA terrorists. Ten suspected men and two women were arrested from the area of event. Those 12 suspected persons will be handed over to Kyaukpyu Myoma Police Station to conduct further investigation.
This incident is related to the event that Tatmadaw members on duty of regional security to ensure peace and stability of the region in Kyaukpyu arrested seven persons related to AA terrorists together with suspected evidences residing in Katthabye Village on Thaingchaung-Thitpoktaung motor road on 26 June night. Arrangements are being made to take action against those seven persons in accordance with the law at Kyaukpyu Myoma Police Station.
