Two F-7 fighters from Magway Airbase crash

Two F-7 training aircrafts from Magway Airbase crashed at about 7.30 am today flying back to the airbase after confronting bad climate.

A squadron of four F-7 jet fi ghters from Magway Airbase started testfl ying at about 6.20 am today. On returning to the base, the planes tried to land amid bad weather conditions. Of the four planes, two managed to make landing successfully. But two others crashed. One crashed near Hsarbwak creek bridge to the west of Minbu town and the other near a field about 1,000 meters west of Thanetpinsu village of Minbu, killing pilots Capt Hein Thu Aung and Capt Phyo Maung Maung.

In the plane crash near Hsarbwak creek bridge, fi fth grader Ma Thwe Zin Nyein, daughter of U Po Phyu living on Ayethaya Street, Ward (4), Minbu, was hit by the debris of the crashed plane and sent to Minbu People’s Hospital. She however died at about 8.40 am. Officials from the local battalion visited the bereaved family and provided necessary assistance. Officials concerned are visiting the scenes for detailed investigation.
