Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects dairy cow farm project in Htonbo and construction of ancient cannon museum in Mandalay royal city, views carving of large marble rock into Buddha image

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Commander of Central Command Maj-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin and party, this afternoon inspected Htonbo dairy cow farm project of Central Command, construction of ancient cannon museum in the Mandalay royal city, and carving a large marble  rock into a Buddha image in Madaya Township.

At the dairy cow farm project, the Senior General and party heard reports on progress of breeding tasks and future plans presented by an official. The Senior General gave necessary instructions.

On arrival at the construction site of an ancient cannon museum being jointly undertaken by the Tatmadaw and the Department of Archaeology and National Museum near Myanansankyaw Golden Palace in the Mandalay royal city, the Senior General and party heard reports on progress of construction tasks by officials and U Zaw Tun ofDepartment of Archaeology and National Museum of Mandalay. After hearing the reports, the Senior General stressed the need to preserve ancient heritages without losing original style and to systematically maintain resilience of building against natural disasters and proper drainage system.

The Senior General viewed round renovation of historic Taung-U-yin Lake dug in 1218 Myanmar era  when the Yadanabon Royal Palace was established in the Mandalay  royal city and left necessary instructions.

The Senior General and party looked into preparations for carving the10,890-ton marble rock extracted from marble hill in Sagyin Village of Madaya Township into a 63 feet high sitting Buddha image. Officials from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, and donor of marble rock U Aung Khaing Than reported on facts about the rock. The Senior General gave necessary discussions.

On arrival at Anandagon stone carving industry in Sagyin Village, the Senior General observed the carving of marble stones into Buddha images, statues of prominent persons, decoration works and various kinds of utensils and furniture created with the art of stone carving and asked for further information.
