As the State Administration Council has been exerting efforts for the stability of the State and establishing a genuinely democratic system in accordance with the five-point roadmap, the Chairman of the State Administration Council, on humanitarian grounds, has granted amnesty in accordance with the subsection (1) of section 401 of the penal code, by reducing their prison terms, top 1,316 male and female prisoners who were sentenced in various prisons, detention prisons and camps for their involvement in protests incited by political extremists and terrorist organizations like the CRPH and the NUG or for various reasons, in consideration of the peace of mind of the people and enabling them to participate in nation-building tasks, on condition that should they commit crimes again, they shall serve the remaining part of their current prison terms in addition to that for the new crimes.
