Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in- Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing accorded a honorary welcomed by delegation led by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Russian Federation Navy on board Russian war vessel Gremyashiy; discussions held

Chairman of State AdministrationCouncil Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Deputy Commander- in-Chief of Navy of Russian Federation Vice Admiral Vladimir Lvovich Kasatonov on board the Russian naval vessel Gremyashiy this morning.

The Senior General, accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung, Commander- in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Yangon Command and officials, arrived at Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa (MITT)and was welcomed by Vice Admiral Vladimir Lvovich Kasatonov and Captain Andrey KUZNETSOV of the vessel. The Senior General took the salute of the Guard of Honour of the vessel on board the Gremyashiy and was honoured and saluted by the national anthems of the two countries.

The Senior General presented foodstuff and other food items manufactured by Tatmadaw factories to officers and other ranks of the Russian naval ship through the Russian naval Deputy Commander-in-Chief and the captain of the ship.

The Senior General received the delegation led by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief at the meeting room of Gremyashiy. At the meeting, views on multiple sector cooperation between the militaries of the two countries, exchange of friendly visits as these visits further cement friendship and trust between the two armed forces and sharing of maritime security technology and information between the navies of two countrieswere cordially exchanged.

The Senior General and party looked around the Gremyashiy. The Russian Deputy Commander- in-Chief and the captain explained the capacities of the machines and defence weapons of the ship, modern equipment to counter bad weather and preparations for search and rescue missions in emergency situations. The Senior General sought more information and discussed technical cooperation in war vessel building.

The Senior General signed the visitor’s book of Gremyashiy and enjoyed a luncheon hosted by the Deputy Commanderin- Chief together with the hosts.

After the lunch, the Senior General and the Russian Deputy Commander-in-Chief and the captain exchanged emblems and souvenirs. The Senior General then introduced officers of Tatmadaw (Navy) who pursued war ship building technology in Russia to the Deputy Commanderin- Chief.

Gremyashiy arrived at MITT in Yangon on 28 October evening. During the three-day friendly visit, the crew will visit significant places, organize friendly sports matches and hold talks.
