More IDPs return to Kayah State as areas calm down

Nay Pyi Taw, January 26

TERRORISTS in Kayah State have been identified and arrested by security  forces as clashes broke out in January, and innocent people from the area,  including in Loikaw, were fleeing from the fighting to safer areas.

Security forces have regained control of the area since 22 January and the  area has returned to normal, with markets reopening and trading peacefully.

Pilgrims regularly visit pagodas and other religious temples.In addition, security forces coordinated with relevant organizations as  necessary for the resettlement of the displaced people.

Among the displaced persons, 212 from Loikaw and surrounding villages returned to their homes yesterday.It is reported that the relevant authorities have systematically accepted the IDPs and are providing necessary assistance.
