Security forces follow Rules of Engagement-ROE in taking necessary security measures in Phakant area

It was reported that the online media disseminating rumours based on fake news, false news and extorted news through social networks that some innocent people and veteran Kachin vocalists died of bombing the Phakant music concert by Tatmadaw aircraft.
The exact site of incident mentioned by media of fabricated news is located at the base of KIA Brigade-9 formed by KIA and KIO Central to exploit and collect extortion money from the companies which are illegally mining the world famous jade stones and that of individual miners. Such a place can easily be searched in the Google Map in order to analyze whether the site is the residence of people or the position of armed organization.
The site when the people and artistes were dead mentioned in the rumour is the headquarters of KIA Brigade-9. Some mining owners to operate illegal businesses and only KIA troops only enter the site but its public travel is restricted to the site. As such, it is a military operation area of the terrorists.
KIA Brigade-9 and KIA troops together with so-called PDF terrorists with larger number of strength ambushed Hsezin village and environs between Phakant area and Khamti-Homalin area nine times, collected extortion money and committed kidnapping in Homalin, Yepawmee and related area in an unguard moment of the security forces, raided the police outpost with the larger number of strength in Nansipun block in mining jade stones near Khamti with legally paying tax to the State in May 2021 and set fire to working heavy machinery in their disarray withdrawal, attacking police outposts in Kansi, Lonkhin and Phakant for many times and ambushing Kansi-Lonkhin- Nanya-Mogaung motor road and Tatmadaw camps 11 times from 2021 to date.
During three consecutive days from 21 to 23 October, those KIA troops violently exchanged fire with Tatmadaw camps and security forces near Momauk Township for many times. As such, the Tatmadaw conducted necessary military operations against KIA Brigade-9 area due to the latter’s opening fire at passenger vessels and motor schooners leading to Bamauk along the Ayeyawady River for no reason.
The statement on death of more than 50 people and artistes mentioned by the news agencies mentioning fabricated news, fake news and false news including Khit Thit Media was just a rumour. According to the approval ground information and secret news from KIA headquarters in Laiza, only KIA and so-called PDF terrorists including Sharaw Laseng at the level of brigade commander, Zei Tawng at the level of deputy brigade commander, Dukaba La Aung at the level of station commander and Pe Rang, in-charge of natural resources assessor were dead in the incident.
The security forces are following the Rules of Engagement-ROE in accord with the provisions of the Law of Armed Conflict based on four Geneva Conventions in necessary military operations for combatinginsurgents so as to ensure peace and stability of the region.
