Families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) donate rice, edible oil, salt, gram and alms to monasteries in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area

Aimed at easing difficulties of rice at monasteries and Buddhist learning centres in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area during the period of prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, senior military officers led by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win offered rice, edible oil, salt and gram including a handful each of rice collectively donated by families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) under the patronage of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min  Aung Hlaing to monasteries this afternoon.

Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Maj-Gen Thaung Htaik Shwe and senior staff officers paid homage to members of the Sangha led by Sayadaw Bhaddanta Pannavamsa of Mingala Thiri Pattar Monastery in Mingaladipa Ward in Pobbathiri Township and Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nanissara (Dhammacariya) of Nyanagonyi Buddhist Learning Centre in Tabinshwehti Ward, Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and party to lecturer patron Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nandiya (Dhammacariya) of Ywathitgyi Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre in Ywathitgyi Village in Sipingyi Village-tract of Zeyathiri Township and members of the Sangha led by abbot Bhaddanta Khemacara of Pantthaku Tawya Monastery in Pankhin 3 Ward of Ywakauk Village-tract in Pyinmana Township and Lt-Gen Than Tun Oo from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and party to members of the Sangha led by Sayadaw Bhaddanta Pandita of Ohntaw Monastery in South Myauklutkon Village in Ywatha Village-tract in Pyinmana Township. They offered rice, edible oil, salt and gram including a handful each of rice daily donated by Tatmadaw members and families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), masks produced by Myanmar Economic Corporation and cakes of Padonma soap produced by Padonma Soap Factory of Myanmar Economic Holdings Public Company Limited to members of the Sangha respectively.

With regard to today’s donations, 92 bags of rice, 200 viss of edible oil, 224 viss of gram, 185 viss of salt, 2,600 masks, 555 cakes of Padonma soap and alms were donated to 316 monks and novices from monasteries and five nuns, totalling 321 for a month.
