Final match and prize-presentation ceremony of education degree colleges men’s champion football trophy for academic year 2022-2023 held; State Administration Council Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win presents prizes

    The final match and prizepresentation ceremony of education degree colleges men’s champion football trophy for academic year 2022-2023 was held at Wunnatheikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon.

Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win watched the final match and presented prizes to winners.

Present together with the Vice-Senior General were SAC members, Union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, senior military officers, deputy ministers, and faculty members and students and athletes of universities and degree colleges in regions and states.

First, the Vice-Senior General and attendees watched the final match between Meiktila Education Degree College and Hpa-an Education Degree College.

The two finalists exerted all out efforts and put pressure on each other. In the 13th minute, No. 7 of Hpaan Degree College team scored a neat opener, but Meiktila Degree College team equalized through a penalty in the 45th minute. The first-half ended in a one one draw. 

In the second half, Hpaan Degree College scored its second goal from a free kick in the 60th minute. But the Meiktila Degree College equalized again in the 72nd minute. Hpaan Degree College scored the winning goal in the 90th minute of the final and won the trophy with a 3-2 win.

At the prizepresentation ceremony, SAC member U Yan Kyaw presented the best goalkeeper award and cash award to Saw Lu Min Aung of Hpaan Education Degree College, SAC member U Khun San Lwin, best defender award and cash award to Myo Lin Aung of Magway Education Degree College, SAC member Dr Kyaw Htun, best midfielder award and cash award to Ye Thway of Hpaan Education Degree College, SAC member U Maung Ko, Best Forwarder Award and cash award to Cho Tu of Meiktila Education Degree College, and SAC member Mahn Nyein Maung, Best Player Award and cash award to Saw Tu Tu Bi of Hpaan Education Degree College.

SAC members Porel Aung Thein, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and Admiral Tin Aung San presented individual medals and cash awards to thirdprize winner Magway Education Degree College, secondprize winner Meiktila Education Degree College, and firstprize winner Hpaan Education Degree College respectively.

Vice-Senior General Soe Win then presented a cash award and championship trophy to Hpaan Education Degree College.

After the ceremony, the Vice-Senior General and attendees cordially greeted athletes.

The football match was held with the goal to fully support the work of ensuring health and fitness and education promot-ion of the entire country and to serve as the source for the emergence of new generation athletes reliable for the nation in accord with the social objectives. Universities men’s football championship trophy matches will be held at Wunnatheikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on 28 February.
