Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pays homage to Lawkananda Pagoda, pride of Sittwe

    Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his entourage, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, Western Command Commander Maj-Gen Htin Latt Oo and officials, visited Nandayama Pariyattia School in Sittwe, Rakhine State, and paid respects to the Principal Sayadaw Agga Maha Gandavacaka Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Nandasiri.

The Senior General and wife paid respects to the Sayadaw, asked after his health and supplicated religious matters.

Then, rice, edible oil and other kinds of donations including cash donations donated by families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) were presented.

Later, the Senior General and wife and party paid homage to Lawkananda Pagoda, the pride of Sittwe, Rakhine State.

On arrival at the pagoda, the Senior General and wife and party were welcomed by members of the Pagoda Board of Trustees. They paid homage to the Buddha Image inside the pagoda and offered flowers, water, lights. The Senior General signed the visitor’s book.

The Senior General and wife presented cash donations for the pagoda allround renovation through officials of the board of trustees. The Senior General then viewed documentary photos on renovation of inner cave of the pagoda. He paid homage to the pagoda while circling the stupa clock-wise. He urged officials to maintain the pagoda and looked into the requirements.

The Senior General, wife and party paid homage and offered flowers and water to Setkyamuni Buddha Image at Setkyamuni Theindawgyi. Donations for multiple purposes of the pagoda were accepted by officials.

The Senior General gave necessary guidance on keeping the Setkyamuni Theindawgyi and Setkyamuni Buddha Image to look admirable.
