State Administration Council Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win attends final match of Inter University/ Degree College Men’s Football Tournament for 2022-2023 AY in conjunction with prize awarding ceremony

    The final match of Inter University/ Degree College Men’s Football Tournament for 2022-2023 academic year and the prize awarding ceremony took place at Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon,attended  by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice -Senior General Soe Win.

Also present at the ceremony were SAC members, Union ministers, the chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers, deputy ministers, faculty members and student athletes from universities and degree colleges in regions and states.

The Vice-Senior General and attendees watched the final match between Yangon Zone team and Pathein Zone team in the men’s football tournament.

As they could reach the final match, both teams penetrated each other with might and main. At 7th minutes, Yangon Zone team scored an opening goal but Pathein Zone team equalized at 33rd minutes.

At 61st minutes of the second half, Yangon Zone team netted the second leading goal. Pathein Zone team could translated its chance into the goal at the 71st minutes. They held a 2-2 draw till the final whistle.

In the first extra time, Pathein Zone team scored the third goal at 7th minutes and 34th seconds, but Yangon Zone team equalized its third goal via penalty kick at the 13th minutes and 50 seconds. Hence, the match ended with a 3-3 draw.

In the penalty decisions, Yangon Zone team scored four goals and Pathein Zone team, three goals. Hence, Yangon Zone team won over the opponent with a 7-6 result.

Then, Union Minister Dr Nyunt Pe presented individual medals and cash awards for the best goalkeeper award to keeper Hein Htet Ko Ko from Pathein Zone team, Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, the best defender award to Hsan Pyae Sone Soe from Mawlamyine Zone team, SAC member U Yan Kyaw, the best midfielder award to Aung Naing Soe from Yangon Zone team, SAC member Khun San Lwin, the best forward award to Ye Yint Maung from Magway Zone team, SAC member Dr Kyaw Tun, the top scorer award to Hlaing Bwar from Yangon Zone team and SAC member U Maung Ko, the best player of the tournament award to Nay Soe Lin from Yangon Zone team.

SAC member Mahn Nyein Maung gave individual medals and cash awards for third prizewinning Mawlamyine Zone team, SAC member Poe Rei Aung Thein, second prizewinning Pathein Zone team and SAC member Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, first prize-winning Yangon Zone team.

The Vice-Senior General presented cash award and championship trophy to first prizewinning Yangon Zone team.

After the match, the Vice-Senior General and those present at the ceremony cordially greeted the players.

Universities, degree colleges and colleges under the Department of Higher Education were designated in four zones each in upper and lower Myanmar in selecting the players in relevant townships for the tournament.
