Nation building tasks must be carried out without losing sight of objective and goals After hearing reports, the Senior General said it is the first time to meet and deliver address to officials in Kyaukphyu District and discussions were made with departmental officials, townelders and businesspeople in Sittwe. During the discussions, they reported on regional development tasks. Although everyone wants their states and region to enjoy development, appropriate and possible tasks that reflect the reality of the states and regions have to be carried out.

Nationbuilding tasks must be carried out by adopting objectives and goals and without losing sight of them. The government has adopted two political objectives and has been implementing them for strengthening the disciplined and genuine multiparty democracy system and building a union based on federalism and democracy while measures are being taken for two national objectives of prosperity of the country and security of food, water and basic needs. As the prosperity of the country is directly related to the stability of the state, stability of respective areas is essential for the prosperity of the country.

Education is being promoted to develop educated human resources As development of human resources is essential for prosperity of the country, education is being promoted. As wisdom and technical knowhow can be achieved through school educations, it is necessary to encourage all school-aged children to go to school. Therefore, efforts must be exerted to nurture intellectuals in Kyaukphyu. Only when there are intellectuals in the area, there will be human resources necessary for regional development.

Agriculture and livestock breeding Kyaukphyu is endowed with favourable conditions to successfully carry out agriculture and livestock breeding tasks.

If paddy yields in Kyaukphyu can be boosted, it would be beneficial for the region and the buying power of farmers will be enhanced. This will also increase the revenue of the country. With increased income for individual farmers, the income of local residents will be higher and money circulation in the region will be accelerated, resulting in the development of socioeconomic lives. Therefore, it is necessary to boost peracre yields of crops to meet the target. Priority must be given to local sufficiency and surplus must be exported to other regions and countries.

Successful farming requires quality strains, fertilizers and water supply and correct cultivation methods. Bio fertilizer can be produced from systematic livestock breeding. Again, successful farming of fish and prawn suitable to the region will contribute much towards the economy of Kyaukphyu region.

When it comes to agriculture, coconut that is well grown in the region should be used effectively.

Value-added products can be produced from coconut.

Thus, coconut business can be successful in the region, and there will be job opportunities for producing valueadded goods.

It is necessary to grow windbreaks and mangroves to prevent natural disasters and ensure temperate weather while the existing trees and forests must be maintained. All trees and forests facilitate preventive measures for natural disasters.

Regarding Kyaukphyu SEZ, Kyaukphyu deep-sea port  project started for promotion of foreign trade. Plans are also being carried out to establish an industrial zone. In implementing national development projects, all-round consideration is necessary in short and longterm interests of economic projects that should be suitable to each region. The Kyaukphyu SEZ project must be successful in the interests of the State.

Encouragement is being given for MSMEs. Operating local businesses needs to rely on domestic raw materials. It is necessary to manufacture valueadded products from raw materials derived from agriculture and livestock breeding.

Therefore, agricultural and livestock breeding activities should be successful in Kyaukphyu region for regional development.

The State is providing capital investments for MSMEs.

Sweet home attracts guests Possessing beautiful natural scenes and landscapes, Kyaukphyu region needs to try for tourism development. With regional peace and stability, tidiness, local eatables, and a beautiful and pleasant environment, a region can attract both local and foreign visitors. Sweet home will attract more guests. Thus, all departmental personnel and local people are to cooperate each other for regional development.

Individuals are urged to play their roles and work hard in the national interests. In this way, a brighter future must be created for posterity, said the Senior General.

After the meeting, the Senior General and party cordially greeted those present.
