Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pays obeisance to Inlay Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda

    Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the entourage, the chief minister of Shan State, the commander of Eastern Command and officials, paid obeisance to Inlay Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda in Inlay region in Nyaungshwe Township, Shan State (South) this afternoon.

First, the Senior General and party were warmly welcomed by Chairman U Win Myint of the pagoda board of trustees, departmental officials and town elders. Then, the Senior General and party paid obeisance and offered flowers, water and gold robes to Buddha images at the pagoda before signing the guest book of the pagoda.

Afterwards, the Senior General and wife presented cash donations for allround renovation of the pagoda to the chairman and members of the pagoda board of trustees, who gave Dhamma gifts to the Senior General in return.

Then, the Senior General and party paid obeisance to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vizaya at the Sein Hnint Mya Monastery in the precinct of the pagoda and offered alms and cash donations to the Sayadaw.

The Senior General asked after the health of the Sayadaw and discussed matters related to the durability of the pagoda before seeking sermon from the Sayadaw.

Then, the Senior General and party viewed round local traditional products and traditional costumes shops and gave instructions to responsible officials on providing necessary technologies and assistance to improve the qualities of products in Inlay, measures to be taken for implementation of 'One Village, One Product' program and arrangements to enable local and foreign pilgrims to pay obeisance to the pagoda in peace of mind during the upcoming summer holiday.

Afterwards, the Senior General and party view round the Inlay Lake and potentials for development and environmental conservation in Inlay region by motorboat.
