Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) families led by SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife pay respect to retired senior military officers

    A ceremony to pay respect to the retired military officers of the Tatmadaw who attended the 78th Anniversary Armed Forces Day parade by the families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) took place at Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon.

Nineteen senior military officers and seven wives were paid respect by Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Chief of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) families led by SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife pay respect to retired senior military officers General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) and wives.

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said: We have been successors of the Tatmadaw, according to the Tatmadaw tradition. The retried military officers attending the ceremony today are like our parents and teachers. This why we pay respect every year when the time comes. I am grateful and honoured to see them attend the ceremony yearly. It is a fine tradition of the Tatmadaw that such an event is held as a gesture of juniors showing respect to their seniors in accord with the Buddhist tradition.

Next, the Senior General and wife and the senior military officers and their wives, on behalf of the families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), paid respect to the retired senior military officers in accordance with the Myanmar traditions.

Then, the Senior General and wife, the Vice-Senior General and wife and senior military officers presented gifts of respect to the retired military officers individually.

On behalf of the retired senior military officers, retired General Thein Sein and retired Lt-Gen Tun Kyi gave words of advice.

Then, the Senior General and senior military officers posed for documentary photos together with the retired military officers and wives.

Later, the Senior General and wife cordially greeted them.
