Ceremony to offer alms and day meal to the Sayadaws held tomark Buddha  Day on Full Moon Day of Kason; Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla attend the ceremony

    A ceremony to offer alms and day meals to the Sayadaws was held at Sasana Maha Beikman in the precinct of the Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw this morning marking the Buddha Day on Full Moon Day of Kason and Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla attended it and offered day meals to the Sayadaws.

Present on the occasion also were Secretary of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Minkyaung Pathamabyan Sarthintaik in Thanlyin Presiding Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddama Jotika Dhaja Dr Bhaddanta Sandima Bhivamsa, Vice Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Sayadaw of Koehsaungtaik, Thirimarlar Kyaung of Myingyan Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Jotipala, Chancellor of Sitagu World Buddhist Universities and Sangha Raja of Shwekyin Nikaya Sitagu Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Ratha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhama Jotika Dr. Bhanddanta Nyanissara, Sayadaws and Sanghas. With the Senior General and wife, Vice Chairman of SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the Secretary of the Council, the Joint-Secretary of the Council and wife, members of the Council and wives, union level dignitaries, union ministers and wives, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials also attended the ceremony.

Before the start of the ceremony, the Senior General offered an emerald alms bowl, fruits, flowers, water and oil lamps to the Buddha Image inside the Sasana Maha Beikman.

Then, the ceremony was opened by reciting Namo Tassa three times. The congregation led by the Senior General and wife took the Five Precepts from Secretary of Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw and listened to Paritta recited by the Sanghas.

Afterwards, the Senior General and wife offered alms to the Sayadaw.

Next, the Vice-Senior General and wife offered alms to the Vice Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Sayadaw of Koehasung Kyaungtaik, Thirimingalar Kyaung, Myingyan.

Then, the Secretary of the Council, the Joint Secretary of the Council, members of the Council and wives, union level dignitaries, union ministers, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) offered alms to the Sayadaws and Sanghas.

Then, the congregation listened to religious sermons from the Vice Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Myingyan Sayadaw, shared merits gained and recited Buddha sasanamciratithatu three times to conclude the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the Senior General and Wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla offered day meals to the Sayadaws and Sanghas.
