Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects upgrading of Kandaw Mingala Shankan Lake in Pyinmana

    Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected upgrading of Kandaw Mingala Shankan Lake in Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area this evening.

The Senior General and party were welcomed by Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin, Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander Brig-Gen Wai Lin and members.

The Nay Pyi Taw Council chair reported on brief history of the lake, dredging of the eastern sector of the lake under the upgrading project due to heavy silting, application of expert consultations and modern machinery in implementing the project phase by phase, silt recycling programs, renovation of Mingalakan Lake Pagoda and chamber.

In response, the Senior General said the lake is the pride of Pyinmana and it should be an auspicious water body in line with its name. Upgrading project should be carried out stage by stage in a proper way.

The beautifying and social improvement of Nay Pyi Taw is in progress. So also, Pyinmana should be beautified and modernized, a tasks which calls for public participation. Lake refilling program must be started soon after the completion of the upgrading project. Research is underway to tap water resources in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. Rain water must be systematically stored and used.

Officials should have an irrigation program in hand, apart from filling the lake to the brim. All should play a part in the task of beautifying and developing the environment from towns and localities to the entire country.

The Senior General and party observed the lake upgrading project and looked into the requirements in building shoulders of the lake ring road and gave guidance on creating areas for public recreation, physical activity and walkways, redesigning and raising of Shin Upagutta Chamber to reach the level higher than that of the shoulders, extension of a lake pathway, repair of drainages along the banks of the lake, building a brick retaining wall in the coming open season, ensuring cleanness and pleasantness of the lake, planting large flowering trees and flowers along the ring road, and natural lighting programs and facilitated the work coordination programs.
