Senior General Min Aung Hlaing holds talks with Chief of Defence Forces of Royal Thai Armed Forces via video teleconference

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held talks with General Chalermphon Srisawasdi, Chief of Defence Forces of the RoyalThai Armed Forces, through video teleconference (VTC) this afternoon.

Also present together with the Senior General were senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief. The Thai General was accompanied by officials.

Both sides cordially discussed the history of good relations between Myanmar and Thailand as they are good neighbourly countries sharing land, water and space territories, the prevalence of peace and tranquility on the border thanks to the cooperation of the Royal Thai Armed Forces contributing to Myanmar’s peacemaking efforts, the gratitude the Tatmadaw owes to Thailand for its assistance to ensure the Myanmar citizens living there did not lose their voting rights in the multi-party democracy general election, the assistance in promoting Myanmar’s democracy, the commuting of the death sentence for Win Zaw Oo and Zaw Lin in the Koh Tao murder case under the pardon of the Thai King after the official requests of Myanmar including the ones made

by the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services on his Thai tours and their good living and health conditions there, the holding of annual sector-wise meetings to strengthen the amity and cooperation between the two armed forces and the resumption of those meetings when the COVID-19 is under control although they could notbe held now due to the outbreak, the medical supplies donated by Thailand for COVID-19 prevention and control, and conditions to promote the cooperation between the two militaries.
