Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attends choice of arms ceremony to choose arms for cadets of 7th Intake of Graduate Female Cadet Course at Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Hmawby), gives instructions

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing this morning attended the ceremony  of  choice  of  arms  to scrutinize arms for the 7th Intake of Graduate Female Cadet Course at the Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Hmawby).

Also present at the ceremony of choice of arms were Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Commander of Yangon Command Brig-Gen  Nyunt  Win  Swe  and Commandant of Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Hmawby) Brig-Gen Zaw Naing Oo. They met female cadet individually and scrutinized and chose suitable military arms (Army, Navy and Air) for the cadets depending on obedience to disciplines, subjectwise outstanding, sharpening, hobby and hardworking along the training period.

At noon, the Senior General and party had the lunch together with the cadets at the cadet mess hall and continued the choice of arms.

In meeting with the cadets at Myawady  Hall  of  the  training school, the Senior General said the 1st Intake of the Graduate Female Cadet Course was opened at Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Hmawby) with 100 trainees in 2014 with the aim of turning out the female military personnel (officers) to be able to discharge defence duty of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The training school has turned out 610 female military officers till the 6th intake of the course and those officers are discharging duty at various arms of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air). At present, training is being given to servicewomen in the computer diploma course for Sergeant Clerk and basic military training course to the trainees.

More than 50 percent of population are women in Myanmar. As global countries are enhancing the role of women, the Tatmadaw assigned female military personnel in the military corps in the past. Due to various reasons, they are continuously assigned at the medical corps only. Now, female military officers are turned out and assigned. Turning out the female military officers is also producing military leaders. If strengths of women can be utilized in nation-building tasks, it will be better. The Senior General praised for and took pride of female military officers for discharging duties at military planes, helicopters and vessels with strengthening body structures and morale. So, arrangements are being made to assign them at advanced airplanes and vessels.

Everybody has goals for their lives. In marching into the goals,  they have to control themselves. As such, their results will be different  depending on their efforts, disciplines, good health and capability for discharging duty. As the training focuses on arts of military leadership, those trainees need to have self-control. Everybody needs to be good follower to become a good leader with ability to obey the orders and successfully implement directives. As the trainees come from various areas and fields, they may face some difficulties in their duties. They have to indulge themselves as well as supervise subordinates. They must avoid the acts of harming improvement of their lives and  health conditions. Trainees should control themselves with contenting and try hard for improvement of their lives so as to become good military leaders. They must have efforts and honesty. The Senior General urged them to try hard  for meeting the goals with strong attitude and not to give up it. As  the role of women is being enhanced, the Senior General urged them  to try to become good leaders  as well as good officers on whom  the duties can trustfully be assigned in respective sectors of the  Tatmadaw.
