Nay Pyi Taw December 15

The commissioning of the aircraft in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of the establishment of Tatmadaw (Air) of the Republic of Union of Myanmar was held at Nay Pyi Taw Air Force Base this morning, attended by Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Present were Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe,

Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and wife, union level officials and wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, air base commanders, officers and other ranks of Tatmadaw (Air) and officials.

In his speech, the Senior General said the commissioning of military aircraft was held for 13 times in the past, and at the 14th ceremony, two Su-30 SME fighter jets, post-fourteenth generation air-superiority fighters, would be transferred to the Tatmadaw (Air).

The provision of new aircraft helps promote the morale of all Air Force personnel and enhance the combat prowess of Tatmadaw.

A study of the modern warfare of the current age shows the vital importance of air and space dominance to win a war.

Air superiority is applied to control and overrun the enemy and the air dominance and advantage become the main forces to boost morale and fighting ability of the troops. Air force officers and other ranks must always undergo training to enhance the airpower of Tatmadaw (Air).

As military tactics, air superiority, technological superiority, precision and advancement of weaponry are the main decisive factors to win a war, Tatmadaw (Air) needs serious ongoing training programs to skillfully apply the military tactics and military equipment that are changing and advancing alongside technological advancement. Production of human resources is of vital importance in building a compact and skilled modern air force.

Pilots need to undergo constant training to become weaponologists skillful in flying. Air force officers and other ranks serving in aviation fields including mechanical, air control, radar, and meteorology sectors must try to be skilled in military tactics and strategies that are developing in harmony with technology through learning, training and compliance programs.

Throughout the successive periods all along the course of history, Tatmadaw (Air) was dutiful in ensuring airspace superiority and serving air defense duties well, in addition to combating internal insurgency.

It had also brilliantly taken part in fighting back external intrusion, and ant internal insurgency and counternarcotic operations, in cooperation with Tatmadaw (Army),

Tatmadaw (Navy), and the people.

As the NLD tried to grab State power unjustly in the 2020 election through vote rigging and legal offenses, Tatmadaw had to assume the duties of the State in accord with the 2008 Constitution in an unavoidable situation. The acts of illegal terrorist groups, NUG, CRPH and PDF, meet the internationally recognized types of terrorism.

Hence, the Tatmadaw is launching a just war against armed insurgents and PDF  terrorists to ensure regional peace and stability and a peaceful social life for the people, and the Tatmadaw (Air) is also taking part in the operations in cooperation with the army, navy and corps by effectively using the airpower.

Servicemen from the Tatmadaw (Air) deployed aircraft and helicopters at full capacity in the military operations for clashes in North-East Command and other military command areas in October and sacrificed their lives for achieving success in fighting. Hence, the Senior General honored them and urged all servicemen to preserve such fine traditions as good legacy.

It can be seen that the Tatmadaw (Air) has been dutifully serving the duties in State defense measures in addition to rescue and relief measures in the natural disasters and humanitarian assistance during the 76 years period. Hence, the Tatmadaw (Air) is joining hands with the Tatmadaw (Army) and the Tatmadaw (Navy) in conventional and non-conventional warfare as well as public welfare warfare for the sake of the people and urged them to continue their assigned duties with utmost efforts.

The Tatmadaw (Air) needs to review improvement of air forces in regional and international countries on time and shape itself to be a compact and capable air force power and aerospace capability. It is necessary to exert efforts for fulfilling their needs and improve material and capability.

The Tatmadaw (Air) firmly believes that the role of technology and human resources in modern wars can make decisions for conflicts. The Senior General stressed the need to take lessons from the past experiences and seek the good ways in successfully addressing the problems in the future.

Today’s commissioned post 4th-generation Su-30 SME fighter aircraft will improve the air force power of the Tatmadaw (Air) and it is new step to upgrade the Tatmadaw (Air) to the tactical air force possessing some strategic capabilities which can manage the majority of functions related to the air force power for the future of the Tatmadaw (Air).

The Tatmadaw (Air) could serve the State responsibilities in respective sectors in successive eras, upholding Our Three Main National Causes and participates in development measures of the State and State defense duties for uplifting the prestige of the Tatmadaw. The Senior General stressed the need to systematically drive the already commissioned aircraft in line with the military code of conducts: Adore own arms, and to forge military unity inside and outside while new generations have to preserve fine traditions of the Tatmadaw with sacrifice of life for long term existence.

Chief of Staff (Air) Lt-Gen Zaw Win Myint declared commissioning of aircraft.

Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung presented a scale model of commissioned aircraft to the Senior General.

A newly-commissioned aircraft Su-30 SME fighter saluted the Senior General and performed skill demonstrations in high performance maneuvers.

The aircraft showed off skills in flying tail slide formation, multiple roll formation, oblique loop formation, saluting with slow flight in 100km/hr and flat spin formation. Moreover, Flat Spin Maneuver cannot be demonstrated by ordinary jet fighter.

But, the Su-30 SME fighter can operate Flat Spin Maneuver due to its super capability and advanced technologies.

Furthermore, the fighter demonstrated Maximum Banking Turn in Radius of Turn and then landed on the runway from the southern part of the airfield.

Then, the Senior General and party sprinkled scented water on the commissioned aircraft, viewed round them and posed for documentary photos.
