State flag-hoisting and saluting ceremony of 76th Anniversary of Independence Day held

The State flag-hoisting and saluting ceremony of the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day took place at the square in front of the City Hall in Nay Pyi Taw this morning.

The ceremony was organized in accordance with the essence of the national objectives for the 76th Anniversary Independence Day: (1) to uphold “Our Three Main National Causes” non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty, which are national interests and national politics; (2) to ensure promotion of a comprehensive education sector that produces human resources complete with knowledge, skill, inherent abilities and capabilities in building a Union based on democracy and federalism; (3) to make efforts for holding a free and fair election in accordance with the law and ensure universal suffrage without any gaps across the country ; (4) to ensure cooperation of the entire people to restore peace and stability by ending acts of terrorism and strengthen the multiparty democratic system; and (5) to promote MSME businesses based on agriculture and livestock.

First, the State flag-hoisting and saluting ceremony of the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day was held at 4.20 am and the flag-hoisting platoon, accompanied by national races, raised the State flag.

Then, at 6 am, union-level dignitaries, union ministers, the Union Accountant General, the Chairman of Union Civil Ser- vice Board, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, the Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, the Chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission, the Chairman of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, senior military officers, justices of the Supreme Court of the Union, members of the Constitutional Tribunal of Myanmar, members of the Union Election Commission, the Commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command, deputy ministers, members of Union Civil Service Board, the Vice Governor of the CBM, members of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, the Vice-Mayor of the Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee, members of Anti-Corruption Commission, departmental heads and personnel, national races and people took positions at the square in front of the city hall, the venue of the ceremony.

Next, the ceremony to mark the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day 2024 was held at 7 am and the Guard of Honour of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) marched to the square and took positions.

Afterwards, Chairman of the Central Committee for Organizing the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day Vice Chair man of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win arrived at the saluting platform of the ceremony and took the salute of the Guard of Honour.

Then, the Vice-Senior General and attendees to the ceremony saluted the State Flag together with the Guard of Honour.

Afterwards, the Guard of Honour saluted the fallen leaders and soldiers and took the four-point oath.

Then, the Vice-Senior General read out the message sent by Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thu dhamma Min Aung Hlaing to the 76th Anniversary Independence Day Ceremony.

Afterwards, the Vice-Senior General took the salute of the Guard of Honour and then the ceremony concluded.
