Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets Tatmadaw members and families from Pathein Station of South-West Command

Nay Pyi Taw January 20

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with officers, other ranks and their families from Pathein Station of South-West Command this afternoon at the Ayeyawady Hall of the command.

Together with the Senior General were his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice Admiral Zwe Win Myint and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, South-West Command Commander Brig-Gen Wai Lin and officials.

Speaking at the meeting, the Senior General said the SAC is carrying out national duties after laying down future plans and objectives. The vote rigging that occurred in the multi-party democratic election in 2020 was not resolved in accordance with the law, and what’s more the State power was taken by force. Therefore, the Tatmadaw had to assume State duties after declaring a state of emergency following the situation. Preliminary processes are being carried out to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election in order to hand over State duties to the government that will emerge.

Since October 2023, there have been ethnic armed conflicts in the northeastern region. What is happening is that they are trying to get the power by a short cut instead of doing it to get the power in accordance with the law. Since the country is adopting a multi-party democratic system that the entire people want, democratic practices and methods must be respected.

The Tatmadaw is an organization that is primarily responsible for national defense. Each soldier must be ready. In order to carry out defense duties, individuals must be physically fit and must be trained to be always ready for combat, as appropriate for their age. They need to do the exercises they should. It is necessary to develop the spirit of a good soldier while serving their duties, and to effectively apply the military skills that have been taught in the practical field. Just as they need to be able to handle and use the weapons they carry professionally, they also need to constantly train in order to maintain their health and fitness.

As military personnel, they must live and behave themselves in accordance with military rules, and they need to avoid working and living that may harm individuals and organizations. Because of the pleasures of drinking, their individual capacities and their families and their organizations should not be affected. With individual awareness, they must build themselves by maintaining and living rationally.

Everyone wants to progress and pass through life successfully They must act by living well for themselves and their environment by living and working in a systematic manner to improve their individual success.

They need to understand that for every effort, there will be opportunities that are worth it.

By living well for oneself, one’s family also has good behavior and good practices. Just as their parents brought them up to be good people, they must be able to develop a good future for their children to live well throughout their lives. They must be able to teach good academics and show them the right path for them to be able to stand and walk on their own feet after completing their education. They must show a correct path. They need to make efforts to make sure that their children live a better life than themselves.

For officers, other ranks and their families, if they constantly study and read books that can increase their knowledge, they will be able to reap benefits.

The light of knowledge obtained from reading and studying can provide a lot of support for the progress of life, and one must bring light and the right path to one’s family and environment.

As the Tatmadaw is encouraging the education of Tatmadaw members and their families, they must take advantage of this opportunity and strive to improve their knowledge and skills.

They came from various fields and joined the military, where they have become like brothers and sisters. Therefore, they need to live together in a brotherly and a family spirit.

They need to follow the orders and duties given to them. Leaders must be able to create a good environment for their subordinates and their families and have a balanced governance model. As good commanding officers, they must be able to command and rule with a fatherly spirit. All officers, soldiers and their families should live together in harmony and fulfill the duties assigned by the State and the Tatmadaw, said the Senior General. He then asked about the needs of Tatmadaw families.

Afterwards, the Senior General presented foodstuffs for Tatmadaw families to the commander and the Senior General’s wife cash awards for the station maternal and child welfare association to the commander’s wife.

After the meeting, the Senior General and party cordially greeted the Tatmadaw officers, other ranks and their families.
