Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife pay respects to Independence Mawgun Award winners who attend 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day Parade

 Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe pay respects to two Independence Mawgun Award (Second Class) winners and two Independence Mawgun Award (Third Class) winners who were in Nay Pyi Taw to attend 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day Parade at the Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw this morning.

At the meeting, the Vice-Senior General and wife, the Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and wife and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief inquired about health conditions of the four Independence Mawgun Award winners individually and presented edible bird nests and honorary cash assistance to them.

Afterwards, the Vice-Senior General and wife had tea and food together with the Independence Mawgun Award winners.

The four Independence Mawgun Award winners were in Nay Pyi Taw to attend the 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day Parade. Of them, U Maung Maung, Independence Mawgun Award (Third Class) winner, is now 101 years old, U Kyaw Sein, Independence Mawgun Award (Second Class) winner, 100 years old, and U Aye Thein, Independence Mawgun Award (Third Class) winner, and U Ba Chaw, Independence Mawgun Award (Second Class) winner are 96 years old each. It is learned that they are still healthy and strong and recounted their experience gained in resistance struggling to Japanese forces in World War II and that they still appeared in youthful behavior with a sense of loving the country and patriotism.
