Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win speaks words of encouragement to officers, other ranks who sustained injuries during performance of national defence and security duties.

Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by Lt-Gen Nyunt Win Swe of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the commander of the South East Command and senior military officers, visited and spoke words of honour and encouragement officers and other ranks, who were receiving treatments at the local defence services hospital in Mawlamyine in Mon State for injuries sustained during their performance of national defence and security duties, this morning.

First, the Vice-Senior General and party arrived at the local defence services hospital in Mawlamyine, where the commandant of the hospital and officers welcomed them.

Then, the Vice-Senior General and party cordially asked after officers and other ranks, who were receiving treatments after sustaining injuries during their performance of national defence and security, about their injuries, medical treatments and recoveries individually and spoke words of encouragement to them.

Afterward, the Vice-Senior General and party coordinated the needs of the officers and other ranks and presented honorary cash rewards for them.

The Vice-Senior General also presented cash rewards for defence service medical personnel at the hospital to the commandant.

Then, the Vice-Senior General and party delivered an address to chief ministers of Kayin State and Mon State and departmental officials in Mawlamyine in the afternoon.

During the meeting, the ViceSenior General said Kayin and Mon states are border areas which host important border trade gates and pointed out the needs to boost the relations and border trade between the two counties. In connection with the ongoing violence, the Vice-Senior General pointed out the needs to make trilateral cooperation among the government, the Tatmadaw and the people, for responsible officials to mobilize local residents for regional stability as success can be achieved with the cooperation of local residents, to cooperate with the Tatmadaw to prevent infiltration of insurgency into already stable towns and villages out of security awareness, to coordinate education and healthcare tasks for students and local residents in Kayin and Mon state so that students can study peacefully, to adjust political, defence and economic affairs as they are directly interrelated and to make effective efforts for development of MSME as they are important for the economy of the country.

Then, chief ministers of Kayin and Mon states and responsible officials reported to the Vice-Senior General on regional factors of states, stability of border areas, stability of border areas and security matters, opening of temporary camps for IDPs and provision of basic needs and funds for them, rehabilitation and demining in towns and villages by terrorists, measures taken to enable students to study peacefully in the upcoming academic year, granting loans for MSMEs, implementation of agriculture and livestock breeding tasks and development of work plans for local products such as rubber and paddy and the Vice-Senior General discussed the needs the coordinated them with responsible officials.

Also in the afternoon, the Vice-Senior General gave instructions on matters related to operations, territorial control and security with commanders and officers from station at the meeting hall of the South East Command.
