1386 Kason Full Moon Buddha Day celebrated

The 1386 Kason Full Moon Buddha Day ceremony was held this evening at the Aggadhipati Sasana Beikman in the Maravijaya Buddha Park, Union Territory, Nay Pyi Taw, this evening, attended by Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The event was graced by State Oavadacariya ITBMU Oavadacariya Chancellor of Thitagu International Buddhist Academies Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Agga Maha Pandita Maha Dhammkakhtika Bahujana Hitadhara Sitagu Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Nyanissara. Also present together with Daw Kyu Kyu Hla were SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, SAC Secretary and wife, SAC members and wives, Union-level officials, Union Ministers and wives, the chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, deputy ministers, officials, and religious associations.

The ceremony began with the chanting of “Namo Tassa” three times. Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and the congregation received the Eight Precepts from the Sitagu Sayadaw, who then delivered a Dhamma sermon on the significance of the Kason Full Moon Buddha Day.

Afterwards, Vice-Senior General Soe Win offered cash donations, which were received by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin. Then, the Sitagu Sayadaw presented a certificate of honour to Vice-Senior General Soe Win.

After the Sitagu Sayadaw delivered a sermon to which the congregation listened, sharing merits gained, the ceremony concluded with the recitation of “Buddhassa Sasanam Ciram Titthatu” three times.
