Statement on Ceasefire and Eternal Peace

1. The Tatmadaw further ceased all military operations till the period from 1 to 31 January 2021 in all areas except from the places where groups declared by the State as terrorist groups are active to effectively and successfully restore eternal peace and to speed up undertakings of COVID-19 prevention, containment and treatment with momentum.

It has also established the Peace Talks Committee of the Tatmadaw to able to effectively carry out continuous dialogues of peace processes.

2. The Tatmadaw issued a news release on the further suspension of all military operations of the Tatmadaw except State defence and administrative measures from 1 to 28 February 2021 in the entire nation to enable ethnic armed organizations to continuously join the dialogue until they accomplished process of eternal peace, successfully carry out peace process for achieving success and to easily perform the measures of prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 the globe faces.

3. As such, all organizations and persons participating in the peace process for ensuring peace and prosperity of the Union, development of social economic lives and correct walking along democratic way need to make concerted efforts to effectively utilize the period when the Tatmadaw further suspended military operations rather than previous periods so as to continue negotiation and discussions for achieving eternal peace.
