Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Vice-Senior General Soe Win attends 74th Anniversary of Union Day Flag hoisting and saluting ceremony

The 74th Anniversary of Union Day Flag hoisting and saluting ceremony was held in the square in front of the City Hall in Nay Pyi Taw this morning, attended by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, who read out the message sent by Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The 74th Anniversary of Union Day was observed with full of essence in accord with the five national objectives: To work on the Union Peace Conference: 21st Century Panglong, till the success of the internal peace process is achieved; To develop the socio-economic life of the ethnic nationals; To work for the emergence of a constitution that is in alignment and harmony with the Democratic Federal Union; All ethnic nationals to work for the preservation and protection of non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national unity, and perpetuation of national sovereignty; and  To nurture and develop new generations endowed with high skills and capabilities imbued with strong Union spirit.

First, the ceremony to hoist the State Flag to mark the 74th Anniversary of Union Day took place at 5.30 am, and the flag hoisting unit together with ethnic nationals hoisted the Flag of the Union of the Republic of Myanmar.

Next, departmental personnel, those from social organizations, ethnic nationals and guests in attendance started marching at 5 am and took their position at the square of the City Hall.

The State Flag saluting ceremony took place at 7 am when the Guard of Honour of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) marched towards and took a position at the square of the City Hall.

Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win took a position on the podium at the square of the City Hall where the Union Day would be celebrated, and took the salute of the Guard of Honour.

The Vice-Senior General together with those in attendance saluted the Flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar as the Guard of Honour played the National Anthem.

The Vice-Senior General read the Union Day message sent by Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and the ceremony came to a close.

Also present at the celebration were the Union Ministers, the Attorney-General of the Union, the Auditor-General of the Union, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, senior military officers, judges from the Supreme Court of the Union, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, deputy ministers, members of the Union Civil Services Board, Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, the Anti-Corruption Commission and Nay Pyi Taw Council, departmental heads, ministerial staff, ethnic cultural troupes, ethnic representatives and guests.
