More than 730,000 devotees make a pilgrimage to Shwedagon Pagoda in January
More than 730,000 devotees made a pilgrimage to the Shwedagon Pagoda on Siguttara Hill in January 2022, according to the Pagoda Board of Trustees. During the period, 6,637 monks, 4,598 nuns, 332,304 men, 393,924 women, 558 male foreigners, 259 female foreigners, totalling 738,283 devotees made a pilgrimage to the pagoda.
All stakeholders invited to peace talks
The year 2022 is an important year. The coming 12 February is the Diamond Jubilee Union Day and the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day falls on 4 January 2023. So, this year is the year of the pre-Diamond Jubilee. In this regard, it is essential for the country to have the foundations for development to further maintain national sovereignty that is now 75 years old.
Pansay Creek Bridge on TadaUInwa Road opened to mark Diamond Jubilee Union Day

The Pansay Creek Bridge on the TadaU-Inwa Road, Kyaukse District, Mandalay Region was opened yesterday with a ceremony to mark Diamond Jubilee Union Day.
Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Maung Ko, Commander of the Central Command Maj-Gen Ko Ko Oo, officials and invitees from the Ministry of Construction attended the ceremony.
Officials welcome back Myanmar returnees at various borders

Myanmar nationals from abroad are welcomed back at various border crossings this month.
On 7 February, a total of 200 returnees 117 males and 83 females came back home through Myawady, Kayin State.
