Nay Pyi Taw October 1
Continue to maintain good traditions of disciplined, obedient Tatmadaw
For every Tatmadaw member, performing their daily tasks correctly and dutifully means good military discipline and obedience. The good practices of a good soldier are way of living, dress code and table manner including hairstyle and tying shoelaces. So, individuals need to live in discipline and maintain those good traditions, said State Administration Council Chairman Commanderin- Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in meeting with the officers, other ranks and their families from Taunggyi Station of the Eastern Command this afternoon.
Also present were the Senior General’s wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander- in-Chief and wives, and Eastern Command Commander Brig-Gen Ni Lin Aung.
Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said the servicemen and their families need to know the country’s political changes, the Tatmadaw’s defence duty and its leadership role in national politics. Election is the essence of democracy, and any country cannot accept the attempt to win the election in unscrupulous ways. Those who have been elected must be real representatives of the people as they have to elect State leaders in respective Hluttaws who will be serving legislative, executive and judicial duties. Those who won the election through unprincipled methods will not be real people’s representatives at all. Although the Tatmadaw insisted on addressing the issue of incorrect voter lists the erupted in the 2020 multi-party democracy general election, those responsible failed and called the third Hluttaw to form a new government with intent to seize State power illegally. Consequently, we have reached today’s situation.
Tatmadaw members must train themselves to make a capable Tatmadaw as they have to serve their national defence duties conscientiously, which is the primary task of the Tatmadaw. Training and academic courses are being conducted for officers and other ranks to be able to serve their duties effectively and promote their capacity. Serving their duties correctly indicates that they show good military discipline and obedience. Since its inception, the Tatmadaw has been disciplined and obedient. Military discipline is the backbone of the Tatmadaw and such good traditions must be maintained and handed down.
No matter where they serve in shouldering national defence duties, they must act like an infantry unit. They must always fit for fight, ready for fight. They must endure being trained. Moreover, individuals need to read and study knowledgeable books to broaden their horizons. They must always try to become familiar with all their tasks and do better. All necessary things have been provided to Tatmadaw members and their families for their well-being such as education, health and living conditions. The officers and other ranks need to try to sharpen their three skills to perform their tasks dutifully.
Administrative officials for their part are to have a good leadership showing fair and square without discrimination. They must fulfil what their subordinates need. Subordinates also need to correctly report what they need, while those officials concerned need to take responsibility in a correct and speedy manner.
As sustainable development of educated human resources is necessary for development of a nation without lagging behind the academic studies, schools were reopened in order that any tripartite harmfulness will not be caused to the State, parents and students after the Tatmadaw took the State’s responsibilities. However, the schools were closed again due to the situation in the third wave of COVID-19 outbreak. Currently, thanks to the collective and cooperative efforts by the administrative organizations, health personnel and the people, the measure to curb the spread of the disease could be taken until the rate in cases with confirmed COVID-19 is only around 8 percent. It is necessary to exactly comply with the rules and restrictions on COVID-19 to be able to control the transmission rate of COVID-19 as development tasks for other sectors including education could be carried out with might and main only when there is a decrease in the rate of confirmed cases to some extent as expected.
As an individual discipline will be helpful not only to ensure a decrease in infection of the disease in the entire Tatmadaw but also to to get the spread of the disease under control to some extent in the whole country, all are to behave with an individual sense of consciousness. Then, the Senior General asked the officers, other ranks and families about their needs and made necessary coordination to fulfill their needs.
After the meeting, the Senior General presented foodstuff through the commander and the wife of the Senior General cash assistance for maternal and child welfare through the wife of the command commander. Later, the Senior General and party cordially met the officers, other ranks and families who attended the meeting.
This morning, the Senior General and party inspected the tasks being carried out for upgrading the stadium in the station area of the Eastern Command and the married quarters and gave necessary instructions.
