Information Team of State Administration Council holds Press Conference 9/2021

The Information Team of the State Administration Council held the Press Conference 9/2021 at the Ministry of Information  this afternoon. Leader  of  the Information Team Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun,  Member of the Union Election Commission  U  Khin MaungOo, departmental spokespersons and representatives of departmental information teams replied to the ques-tions raised by the media at the press conference.

Before the press conference, officials performed COVID-19 preventive arrangements for the people who attended the press conference and placed them in accordance with the set social distance rule.

Firstly, Leader of the  Information Team Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun gave a wide-ranging presentation on boosting the government’s efforts to streng-then the Union spirit and the work process for peace as a gesture of hailing the 75th Anni-versary of Union Day which falls on February 12, 2022, taking a three-phase task of laying down the tasks for more flouris-hing of the Union spirit, forming the teams including the ethnic people to implement the tasks and carrying out the tasks pra-ctically, the history on endeavors made by the Tatmadaw in the successive eras for ending the internal armed conflicts and achieving a perpetual peace after regaining the independence, the statements on ceasefire issued time after time for a perpetual peace on December 21,2018 and the state of ceasefire, the statement on ceasefire and perpetual peace recently issued by the government as a gesture of hailing to further extend the five-month sus-pension of military operations of the Tatmadaw from October 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022 with the aim of effectively carrying out prevention, control and treatment activities of COVID-19 across the country and boosting the peace process, except the State defence and administrative measures acr-oss the country in addition to undermining the security and administrative machinery of the government throughout nation, and the state of giving consideration on implementing the two points – laying down the political objective of building a strong multi-party democracy system in accordance with the people’s wish in the govern-ment’s nation building efforts and giving a priority to ensuring prosperity and plenty of foods in the nation -- made by Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing dur-ing his tours to PyinOoLwin, Myitkyina and Lashio.

Next, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun gave a wide-ranging PowerPoint presentation on the state of having an increase in violent acts such as planting and detonating mines, bombings and killing innocent people accusing them of being informers after the in-stigating acts by the terrorists in the name of so-called NUG on 7 September, the state of PDF terrorist groups’ sabotage actions on violence targeting the public places like street, office, COVID-19 vaccination site and communication tower and agitating the children to commit huge crimes, and admission of the terrorists who got arrested with weapon, ammunition and accessories in the cities  including  Yangon  and Mandalay.

Afterwards, Member of the UEC U Khin Maung Oo explain-ed about statements on findings through scrutinizing polls in the election, statements on annulling the results of 2020 Multi-party Democracy Election held on November 8, 2020, and the further tasks to be carried out by UEC.

Then, Leader of the Information Team of the SAC Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, UEC Member U Khin Maung Oo and  repre-sentatives of the information teams of relevant departments responded  to  the  questions raised by reporters. Afterwa-rds, the press conference came to an end.

The press conference was attended by members of the Information Team of  State Admi-nistration Council, representatives of ministries, officials of the Tatmadaw Information Team, guests, and reporters of local news  agencies,  newspapers, local TV channels, reporters of locally based foreign news agen-cies.
