Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, together with council members General Mya Tun Oo, Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, council secretary Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dway, joint secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman Dr Maung Maung Naing and officials, inspected plans for the extension of Nay Pyi Taw Kandaw Mingalar circular road and preparations of land before the rows of rain trees (samanea saman) on Yazahtani Road where a lawn will be mowed this evening.
First, the Senior General and party arrived at the site where the Kandaw circular road in Mingalar Kandaw Park near Thabyegon Roundabout in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council area, will be extended. They were conducted round the site by the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman and officials.
The Senior General looked into the public recreation site on Mingalar Kandaw circular road, the site where souvenir key chains can be hanged, the floating viewpoint in the Mingalar Lake and the site where physical exercise can be done. In giving instructions to officials, the Senior General said Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory is the capital of the country as well as the seat of the government. It therefore must be ideal in terms of cleanliness and tidiness. As it is a public recreation site, arrangements must be made for the peace and convenience of the people. Since monsoon is coming, preparations must be made to ensure an easy flow of water and no litter in the city streets and residential areas, the Senior General said. He then left other necessary instructions and attended to the needs.
The Senior General and party proceeded to the site of land preparations on Yazahtani Road where a lawn will be mowed. They were conducted round the site by the Nay Pyi Taw mayor, vice mayor and officials. The Senior General stressed the need to make the city equipped with the characteristics of a capital and ensure timely completion of the work.
Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory is the government seat of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and formed with eight townships. It has an urban and rural population of about 1.1 million. Mingalar Kandaw No (1) circular road to be extended is 4,960 feet long and 8 feet wide. Mingalar Kandaw No (2) circular road is 11,660 feet long.
The circular road will be widened by two feet each on both sides with 12-foot concrete roads. The land where a lawn will be mowed is about 4,600 feet long.
