Chairman of the State Admini-stration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accom-panied by his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Council members Admiral Tin Aung San, General Maung Maung Kyaw and wife, Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, Mahn Nyein Maung and Dr Banya Aung Moe, Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers Dr Nyunt Pe, Dr Thet Khaing Win and U Shwe Lay, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, Chairman of Mon State Administration Council U Zaw Lin Tun, Commander of South-East Command Maj-Gen Ko Ko Maung and party, this morning paid homage to Presiding Patron of Myazedi Pariyatti Buddhist Lea-rning Centre in Maungngan Ward of Mawlamyine Dhammacariya Vinaya Pali Paragu Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Vimalabuddhit and supplicated religious and health measures. And, they took the Five Precepts from the Sayadaw.
The Senior General and wife, Council members, Union ministers and senior military officers from the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) donated 200 bags of rice, 300 viss of cooking oil, 300 viss of gram and cash for nine prerequisites to the Sayadaw who returned Dha-mma gifts and religious advice.
The Senior General, wife and party on 31 May paid homage to Kyaikthallan Pagoda, the prestige of Mawlamyine in Mon State.
The Senior General and party were welcomed by members of the pagoda board of trustees. They went round the pagoda clockwise and viewed placing of marble tiles on the platform and preservation of ancient historical religious works. Chairman of the board U Myint Oo and officials conducted the Senior General and party round the plat-form.
They offered flowers, water and oil lights to the pagoda and donated cash for all round renovation to the pagoda board of trustees.
This morning, the Senior General and party inspected progress in implementation of the Mon State sports park project near Min Village of Mawlamyine where Chairman of Mon State Administration Council U Zaw Lin Tun, Deputy Minister for Health and Sports U Myo Hlaing and officials repor-ted to the Senior General on progress of works.
In his response, the Senior Ge-neral gave instructions on extension of the road for convenience of travellers to the sports park, cons-truction of buildings meeting set standard, searching for the public accessible site to build the swi-mming pool, construction of the car park for those leading to the sports competitions and other nece-ssities.
The Senior General and party inspected preparations to upgrade Shwenattaung Station stadium. After hearing the reports of officials, the Senior General instructed them to emphasize upgrading tasks mee-ting the set standards, and efficient use of land plots for hosting the sports meets and friendly matches in the future.
