Over 40,000 people vaccinated once, 30,000 twice in Pakokku

AS of 9 November, more than 40,000 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 for the first time and more than 30,000 have been fully vaccinated in Pakokku Township, according to the township General Administration Department.
Four types of vaccines: Covishield, Sinovac, Vero Cell and Sinopharm are being administered to people in Pakokku Township, Magway Region starting from 11 March. A total of 47,686 people, including 10,336 monks and nuns, 5,010 elderly people, 5,857 healthcare staff and fam 20,331 local people who are in the priority groups have been vaccinated with the first dose of the COVID vaccines in the township.
Next, a total of 36,212 people, including 771 monks and nuns, 4,515 elderly people, 4,797 healthcare staff and family members, 1,404 volunteers, 283 prisoners, 239 factories and banking staff, and other 24,311 local people who are in the priority groups have been double jabbed against COVID-19 in Pakokku Township.
Before the vaccination, members of the township COVID- 19 Control and Emergency Response Committee, the Myanmar Fire Brigade, the Red Cross and volunteers, took temperature measurements and distributed masks to the local people in line with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.
Those who remain to be vaccinated will be taken the upcoming vaccination programme, said U Moe Kyaw Thu, chairman of the COVID- 19 Control and Emergency Response Committee in Pakokku Township.
