Patients to eye hospital required to book in advance

Eye patients to the Eye Specialist Hospital in Bahan Township in  Yangon Region are required to book in  advance and the hospital has requested patients except those who are suffering from red eyes, painful eyes, blurred vision and eye injuries to visit the hospital only after the pandemic.

As people from various parts of the country receive treatments at the hospital, health authorities require patients to book in advance on the phone and come to the hospital according to the appointment from 9 am to 3 pm on weekdays in order to reduce the number of people at the hospital and the risk of infection.

“We will give treatments to patients from other parts of the country only after they have been quarantined. Priority will be given to emergency patients. Doctors here are performing their duties on three shifts. Patients who have received

eye surgery are discharged immedia-tely after the surgery. We are taking measures to prevent the gathering of people in the hospital and risk of infection,” said Superintendent Dr Thet Thet Sein of the hospital.

About 200 patients visit the hos-pital every day. The public can contact the hospital at 09-888629945 and 09-888629954. Patients are allowed to be accompanied by only one guest and all people in the hospital are required to wear masks and comply with social distancing rules.
