Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing offers rice, cooking oil, provisions to Maha Vijitayon Monastery in Mandalay, visits Hsutaungpyae Buddha Image on Mandalay Hill

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his entourage members, the Mandalay Region chief minister, the Central Command commander and officials, visited the Sasana Hitakayi Dhamma Beikman of Maha Vijitayon Monastery in Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay Region, this afternoon and offered rice, cooking oil and other provisions to the Sayadaws's and members of the Sangha.

First, the Senior General paid homage to State Ovadacariya Maha Vijitayon Monastery Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Ratha Guru Bhaddanta Visareinda Bhivamsa, asked after his health and instructed officials to arrange necessities.

Next, the Senior General and the congregation took the Five Precepts and presented the eight requisites, Ks-15 million, 50 bags of rice, 5 bags of beans, 10 containers of cooking oil, 10 bags of potatoes, 10 bags of onions, nutritious foods and medicine donated by families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air).

Then in the evening, the Senior General and party visited the Hsutaungpyae Buddha Image on the Mandalay Hill, where they were welcomed by members of the pagoda board of trustees. They paid homage and offered flowers and water to the Buddha Image. Then, cash donations were made for multi-purpose funds. The members of the pagoda board of trustees accepted the donations and presented a certificate of honour.

After going clockwise round the Buddha Image, the Senior General left instructions on measures for maintenance of the historic Mandalay Hill, the up mountain road to the Buddha Image, the stairways, the pagoda platform and roofs of the pagoda.

Later, the Senior General signed in the guest book.
