Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pays homage to Maha Muni Buddha Image in Mandalay

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his entourage members, the Mandalay Region Chief Minister, the Central Command commander and officials, visited the Maha Muni Buddha Image in Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay Region, this morning.

First, the Senior General and party were welcomed by U Soe Lin, chairman of the pagoda board of trustees and members.

Next, the Senior General and party paid homage and offered flowers, water and gold foils to the Buddha Image. Then, cash donations were made for the multi-purpose fund of the image and received by the chairman and members of the pagoda board of trustees.

The Senior General went clockwise in the pagoda precinct, viewed the tasks for long-term maintenance of the pagoda and renovation of the Maha Muni Archive and gave necessary instructions.

Afterwards, the Senior General and party viewed  Myanmar’s handicraft booth and the historical art gallery in the pagoda precinct. He later gave instructions to officials stressing the need to protect the items and paintings displayed in the booths as they are historic and invaluable. Keeping records of historical facts and data systems will find it easy for posterity to study and value.

Therefore, it is necessary to keep track of evidence and facts of those antiquities with the help of donors and keep a record of them systematically, the Senior General said. He also spoke of the need to coordinate with experts in preventing any loss of original symbols and evidence in renovation tasks.
