Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects project of upgrading Shwenyaung-Taunggyi rail track section

Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party, accompanied by the Chief Minister of Shan State, the Commander of Eastern Command and officials, inspected tasks underway for upgrading the railway track section between Shwenyaung and Taunggyi in Shan State(South) this morning.
Firstly, Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San reported to the Senior General on ground leveling works, quality control measures, progress of sectionwise works, laying the rail lines, rebuilding the rail track section like the famous Bawa Thanthayar rail track in Shan State and tasks to be done.
Regarding the report, the Senior General said rail transportation is very beneficial to the region. The present project of upgrading the Shwenyaung-Taunggyi rail track section is aimed at transporting ordinary people who travel,promoting trade of goods,ensuring more trade of local mineral products and other products and attracting travellers.
It is aimed to extend the rail track section to PaOregion later. It is necessary to meet quality control standards in laying marble and building bridges for the rail lines. Priority should not be given to quick completion of the project, and there should not be failure in quality. It is necessary to build this rail track section systematically like building the Bawa Thanthayar rail track.
Safety fences in some parts of the rail track section near motor roads are needed to be built and toe walls and drains as well.
Later, the Senior General and party took a tour of the project area, gave instructions on the reports by officials and presented a cash bonus to the project staff.
