Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visits Mwetaw Kakku Pagoda and Shwe Bone Pwint Pagoda in Taunggyi Township

    Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, accompanied by members of the SAC, union ministers, the Chief Minister of Shan State, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces and their wives, the Commander of Eastern Command and officials, visited the historic, ancient pagoda of Mwetaw Kakku in Taunggyi Township, Shan State (South), this morning.

Firstly, the Senior General and wife and party paid homage to the ancient pagoda and offered flowers, water, oil lamps and fruits to the pagoda. Then, the Senior General and wife made a cash donation for the pagoda through the chairman of the pagoda’s board of trustees U Khun Kyaw Hsan and officials.

Afterwards, the Senior General and party cordially greeted locals who visited the pagoda. Then, the Senior General and party took a tour of the Mwetaw Kakku Pagoda and gave instructions to the officials on keeping the precinct of the pagoda clean and preserving the ancient pagodas systematically for longterm existence.

Yesterday evening, they visited Shwe Bone Pyint Pagoda, the pride of Taunggyi.

On the visit, firstly, the Senior General and party were welcomed by U Win Aung, chairman of pagoda’s board of trustees, and officials. Then, the Senior General and wife and party offered flowers, water and oil lamps and paid homage to the pagoda.

Then, the Senior General and party admired the scenery of Taunggyi’s landscape from the viewpoint at the pagoda. After that, the Senior General gave instructions to the officials on conserving the city’s natural resources for long-term existence.

Later, the Senior General made a cash donation for the pagoda through the chairman of the pagoda’s board of trustees and officials.
