Production of meat, fish and seasonal crops are being increased in the region to ensure balance of supply and demand chains in the region, and control of prices for basic foodstuffs.
High prices are based on high labour charges and high prices of inputs. If production can be manufactured efficiently for local consumption with reduction of production charges, commodity prices can be reduced. Hence, MEC and Myanmar Economic Holdings Public Co Ltd were assigned duties to supply meat, fish and seasonal crops demand of Yangon and Mandalay regions on one hand.
The Senior General stressed the need to meet the demand of daily consumption as much as possible by calculating the demand of meat and fish consumption of the people from Yangon Region. It is necessary to systematically calculate the egg laying rate and period for breeding layers and duck farming tasks. Likewise, it is necessary to calculate the continuous livestock tasks for other farms. The Senior General stressed the need to successfully breed the cattle for beef and seek the pedigree cattle species for hybrid cows and domestic cows through systematic research tasks. Moreover, it is necessary to cultivate grass for feedstuffs with systematic harvesting in continuous production and systematic use of cow dungs.

Arrangements must be made for sufficiency of necessary inputs. The Senior General stressed the need to take care of strain, soil, water and techniques for agricultural tasks with quality strains, soil preparation, agricultural water and agricultural techniques. As the country is plentiful of land resources for production of proper species of crops with systematic measures, it is necessary to consider production of suitable agricultural produce. The government has allowed import of fertilizers for agricultural tasks not to decline the per-acre yield of crops. If double cropping production increases, farmers will have increased incomes.
