SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win addresses meeting held by Scrutiny Committee on Conferring the Honorary Titles and Medals to present awards in 2024

The Scrutiny Committee on Conferring the Honorary Titles and Medals held a meeting to present the awards for 2024 at State Administration Council Chairman’s Office here this afternoon, addressed by Patron of the committee SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win.
Also present were members of the committee union ministers, deputy ministers, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander- in-Chief, and officials.
The Vice-Senior General said the meeting would discuss the scrutinization of the work of conferring awards on members of the religious order and laypersons who made brilliant efforts in the interest of the Sasana in building a peaceful and modern country and Tatmadaw and civilian servants including members of Myanmar Police Force for discharging duties to ensure peace and stability and enforce the rule of law with sacrificing spirit and self-less efforts.
The State will scrutinize the work of conferring awards and medals on the persons who made brilliant efforts with higher degree of perseverance in the multiple sectors to build the country, leaders, diplomats and persons of foreign countries for their endeavours to cement bilateral cooperation with Myanmar, persons who made sacrifices in safeguarding Our Three Main National Causes of the national policy, persons for their significant efforts in accord with political, economic and social objectives for ensuring community peace and tranquility and the rule of law and emergence of a modern and developed country, persons who successfully made international level creations in arts, science and other academic branches, and persons with excellent literary and fine arts knowledge in accord with the 2009 rules for awarding to honorary titles and medals.
As regards the religious titles, the scrutiny work will be carried out in accord with the relevant provisions of the notification 45/2015 dated 17 June 2015 of the Republic of Union of Myanmar. The relevant scrutiny teams had already done the initial scrutiny work that will be followed by thorough examination process.
In order to confer awards and medals on persons who played the leading role with excellent performance in the respective sectors in developing and modernizing the country, who strived to develop the country and human resources with their profession, directors generation and officials of the same level with three years and five years of service, scrutiny process will be carried out in accord with the additional conditions of the 2014 honorary title and medals scrutiny provisions.
In addition to conferring honorary medals and titles on outstanding monks, individuals, personnel of the Tatmadaw and the Myanmar Police Force and government employees who served the interests of the country significantly, scrutiny will be made at the meeting to provide financial assistance to government employees who were injured or killed while performing their duties in accordance with the guidance of the Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister.
The decisions to confer honorary medals and titles made at the preliminary meeting will be scrutinized again and the SAC will issue announcements to confer honorary medals and titles on 4 January, 2024 (Independence Day) with the approval of a union government meeting.
Concerning honorary titles, medals and religious titles awarded on 4 January (Independence Day) annually, participants are urged to discuss conferring them on all those who deserved to be honoured without leaving anyone including monks, individuals, personnel of the Tatmadaw and the MPF and government employees preliminarily scrutinized and proposed by the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and on those who posses capabilities that will be admired by one generation after another.
Then, chairman of the scrutinizing committee Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae reported to the Vice-Senior General on meetings for preliminary scrutinizing tasks carried out by respective union level organizations, ministries, state and region governments, development committees.
Afterward, secretary of the scrutinizing committee Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj- Gen Toe Yi reported to the Vice- Senior General on scrutinizing tasks for conferring honorary titles and medals while Police Adjutant-General Pol Brig-Gen Win Tun reported to the Vice-Senior General on tasks carried out for conferring honorary medals and titles for bravery and performance in the MPF.
Then, union ministers, deputy ministers, senior military officers and officials reported to the Vice-Senior General on scrutinizing tasks for honorary medals and titles to outstanding individuals, honorary medals and titles for bravery and performance in the Tatmadaw and religious titles.
Then, the Vice-Senior General coordinated tasks reported and the meeting concluded with remarks by the Vice-Senior General.
