Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects reconstruction tasks following damages caused by continuous heavy rainfall within Nay Pyi Taw Council area.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Council Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers U Myo Thant, Dr. Nyunt Pe, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council U Than Tun Oo, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander, and responsible personnel, inspected the ongoing recovery operations addressing damages caused by continuous heavy rainfall in the Nay Pyi Taw Council area.
Paunglaung River Crossing Bridge (Awaiya)
First, the Senior General and his entourage toured the Muntekhwin-Kyitaung-Khawma-Nyaungbintha road by car. They then arrived at the Paunglaung River Crossing Bridge (Awaiya) in Pyinmana Township. At this point, the Union Minister for Construction provided a briefing on the damages caused by floods along the road section and the status of recovery efforts.
Following the briefing, the Senior General instructed that the road, connecting Pyinmana District and Zeyathiri District and passing through densely populated villages, should be repaired to restore proper transportation.
He also gave instructions to upgrade the road and bridge infrastructure as necessary.
Afterward, the Senior General and party, inspected the condition of temporary repairs completed with a double-deck Bailey bridge to address the damage caused by water erosion on the approach road to the Paunglaung River Crossing Bridge (Awaiya) on the Pyinmana side and gave further instructions as necessary.
Paunglaung (Awaiya Dam) Right Main Canal
Next, the Senior General and party inspected the Paunglaung (Awaiya Dam) Right Main Canal where repairs were being carried out to address damages caused by water erosion at broken sections of the canal structure. The responsible officials provided a briefing on the situation and the repair work in progress.
Following the briefing, the Senior General emphasized that recovery operations should be conducted systematically to ensure long-term durability.
He instructed that the canal channels should be restored to ensure proper water inflow and outflow, and that re-digging work must be carried out in stages to ensure efficient water flow throughout the area. He also directed that annual inspections be conducted to maintain efficient water inflow and outflow in the canals and other necessary instructions were provided.
Basic Education High School Branch (Hsinthay Village)
Later, the Senior General, along with his entourage, visited the Basic Education High School (Branch) in Hsinthay Village, where recovery operations were ongoing following damages caused by flooding. The school was cleared of silt left by the receding floodwaters, and cleaning operations were in progress. The school head and teachers explained the situation caused by the flooding and the ongoing cleaning operations. In response, the Prime Minister instructed the responsible personnel to take immediate action to ensure the school could be reopened and classes could resume as soon as possible.
Then, the Senior General presented cash rewards for members of the MPF and the fire brigade and greeted teachers cordially.
Afterward, the Senior General and party inspected situation after the floods in along the road from Hsinthay Village to Nyaungbintha villages and gave instructions on clearance of damage and Teres and branches within a few days by taking necessary measures and the need to upgrade Muntekhwin-Kyitaung-Khawma-Nyaungbintha road as the road has become crowded.
Basic Education High School (Kyaukchet)
Then, the Senior General and party arrived at the Kyaukchet Basic Education High School in Zeyathiri Township and inspected clearance of flood damage, learning activities of students and provision of stationery and school books by the Ministry of Education before giving necessary instructions to the headmistress and responsible officials.
Theikchaung Bridge (Hsinthay Creek)
Afterward, the Senior General and party inspected the maintenance of damaged piers of Theikchaung Bridge (Hsinthay Bridge) that connects Zeyathiri Township and Pobbathiri Township and the union minister for construction and officials reported to the Senior General on maintenance tasks.
After hearing the reports, the Senior General gave instructions the needs to repair the bridge by systematically by calculating its durability and resistance to floods and strong currents and others and presented foodstuffs for staff.
Maintenance of electric towers
Then, the Senior General and party proceeded along Nay Pyi Taw-Tatkon road by car and inspected the maintenance of damaged five electric towers including 230 KV tower No 301 to 305 near Kintha Junction along Tharzi-Shwemyo power line and four 230 KV electric towers from tower No 12 to 15 along Shwemyo-Nay Pyi Taw (2) power line and responsible officials reported to the Senior General on repair works. After hearing the reports, the Senior General gave necessary instructions on the needs to systematically remove damaged towers and to erect new systematically, give priority to durability and safety and others before presenting foodstuffs for staff.
Then, the Senior General and party inspected learning activities is students at the basic education primary school in Asonzigon Village, which was inundated, and presented foodstuffs for them before cordially greeting them. Then, the Senior General inspected and encouraged the silt-removing and clearance tasks of members of the police and the fire brigade and presented foodstuffs for them.
Tasks for Nawinchaung Bridge (Ason) approachway
Then, the Senior General and party arrived at the approach way of the Nawinchaung Creek (Ason), which was washed away by floods, completion of the temporary baily bridge, repair works of the approach way and gave necessary instructions on reports of officials.
